Early Life & Education

Pratap Kondamoori was born in India but moved to the United States at the age of 12. He attended Jr High at Norwood, Massachusetts  and graduated from Wade Hampton High in Greenville, South Carolina. 

After high school, Pratap continued his education at Clemson University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Since graduating from Clemson University, Pratap has worked with various companies throughout the United States in leadership roles. The following are a few of his past roles:


Pratap co-founded Nuko which became the leader in MPEG2 digital video equipment. Nuko went public on Nasdaq and later spun out three technology start-ups. Pratap drove the product vision and Telco strategy at Nuko.


Pratap served as EVP Biz Dev and Marketing. He drove various strategic partnerships including one with Checkpoint leading to Ramp’s acquisition by Nokia in late 2001.


The three startups that were born after Nuko went public on Nasdaq were: Luminous Networks (inventor of RPR), ICompression and Broadband Networks.


Pratap began as Product Manager and was later promoted to Director of Marketing. In these roles, he spearheaded the development of IP router product line, introduced new products into RBOCs, and was instrumental as part of the team that brought Frame Relay and SMDS services to market.

Currently, Pratap Kondamoori provides consulting services to businesses around the world. He has worked with various clean technology ventures such as Solar, LED lights, Fuel Cells and Electric Car charger. For over 10 years, Pratap served as a venture capitalist at Charter Ventures and Sandalwood Partners. He spearheaded investments in over twenty start-ups including serving in operational roles where required.
